Home team Enugu Rangers were Friday night held to a goalless draw by regional rivals Heartland in an ‘Oriental Derby’ played in front of a record crowd at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu.
Rangers were hoping they could build on the big win they recorded against Ikorodu United last term as they faced the Naze Millionaires but hard as the Flying Antelopes tried, they were unable to get behind their visitors in Friday’s clash at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium.

The hosts dominated play from the blast of the whistle but they failed to bury any of their chances, the golden opportunity to go in front was blown away by Rangers just before half time when Chinedu Egbuchulam failed to convert the spot kick awarded to his team.
With the solitary derby point, Rangers remain top of the NPFL log with 32 points from 18 games
